Barbra Stresand Accepts "SL's" Leadership Award

The "Sherry Lansing leadership Award" annually presented to legends in showbiz is meant to be giving to the greatest performer of all times Barbra Streisand in December.




The Milk studio in Los Angeles have been marked as the venue for this years Sherry Lansing's Leadership Award, scheduled on December 9th 2015.
however, the event date coincided with the "THR's" annual publication of top power 100 women in entertainment event.


According to Sherry, "i was humbled to hear of Barbra's acceptance to receive the award" she is such an inspiration to me especially, and to everyone who loves hard work.
Sherry Lansing is the former CEO of one of the biggest motion studios in Hollywood and also acknowledged as the first woman to head a major studio in Hollywood.

The Sherry Lansing's Award is designed to recognise women who has pioneered in the world of entertainment. previously honored includes Oprah Winfrey, Meryl Streep, Diane Keaton and Jodie Foster. Shonda Rhimes who has won numerous awards including 2 Emmy awards, 3 NAACP image awards and also a golden globe award was also among past honorees of the Sherry Lansing's Award.

Streisand is not just know as a face in music and films but also, she had engaged in a lot of philanthropic works which includes the "SF" (Streisand Foundation) launched in 1986 to help women's equality and right, a force against sexism, Streisand also is notable for numerous charity donations mostly in the helping women's heart disease.

Janice Min who was the former chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media's Entertainment Group, applauded Barbra Streisand saying that she is the perfect role model defining the role of women in Entertainment initiatives. Janice continued to say that despite the fact that Barbra was born in an era of little or no opportunity for women, but she still made her way through to the top. It is really a great deal to honor and have her carry the touch.
